Welcome to Inge Olson, Santa Claus of Sweden | ||||
About Inge OlsonIn central Sweden, in a village called Forshaga lives a man with a long white beard. There is something special about this man. He is world famous. Or, well, at least the character he plays is. Inge is actually one of a few authorized Santa Clauses in Sweden. Inge has for many years had a long beard, which over time has become whiter. Inge is compassionate and has a great sense of humor, which makes him perfect for his role as Santa Claus. It started with Inge pretended to be Santa Claus during the holidays for family and friends. But years passed and Inge got to visit more families during the holiday season and therefore decided in the end to become Santa Claus for real. Inge has participated in television, radio, commercials and newspapers all over the country. At home on his farm in Halla, Inge has a shop filled with Christmas decorations. There are ornaments in the shape of Santa Claus, leprechauns, angels, snowmen... Yes, everything you can imagine. The shop is visited by tourists from all over the world, mainly by Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden of course. Since Inge is not particularly good in any language other than Swedish and Norwegian, it gives visitors a good laugh when Inge trying to communicate. He gestures and mixes Swedish, Norwegian, English, German and French to get tourists to understand. Next to his shop Inge has a large paddock. Inside grazed his reindeer who unfortunately died of age. Inge has for many years participated in the World Congress of Santa Claus in Bakken, Denmark. Every year you can meet Santa Clauses from around the world who together play games, meet people and have fun together.
